Leaving France...

WEDNESDAY 27th JULY 5:18pm

Hi again! We’re back in Paris and have been for a few days now. Tomorrow we’re leaving France. Since we last talked I have seen quite a lot of the country. Here is a bit of interesting information about some of the places we have visited...
- In Chartres we visited the Cathedral of Chartres, a gothic Church. An interesting fact about Chartres is that Henry IV was crowned there in 1594.
-Dreux is home to the Chapelle royale de Dreux and was also the place where the first major battle of the French Wars of Religion was fought in 1562.
-Evreux has one of the largest Cathedrals in France.
- Le Havre, means 'the port' or 'the harbor', and is the second largest port in France. In
1944, during World War II, it was devastated in the Battle of Normandy.
-Rouen was where Joan of Arc was burn on the stake in 1431.

Anyway, we’re off for our last dinner in France. It’s been a brilliant trip and I have learnt heaps about France and the places in it like the Notre Dame Cathedral, Château de Versailles, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. You can check out some of the places I have been to by taking a look at my map- EMILY'S MAP OF FRANCE. I am looking forward to coming home and seeing you all, though.
See you soon J
